Ultimate Recall Seminar

4-Day Course

This year (2011) will be John Rogerson's last USA tour

Where:   Mountain Center, California

The seminar will be held in the San Jacinto mountains which is about 15-minutes from Idyllwild, and approximately an hour from Palm Desert, and Temecula.

About the Seminar:
This is a four-day seminar with John Rogerson who is widely acclaimed as the world's leading dog trainer and behaviourist.

John Rogerson has an amazing gift for teaching dogs, and more importantly, their handlers, to accomplish things they never thought they'd be able to do!

John has competed at the highest levels of competitive dog sports and has pioneered a vast number of behavior problems solving techniques. John's training techniques, problem-solving skills and overall abilities are second to none!

John uses positive training techniques that are humane, and gentle. But unlike many other trainers, you won't find John needing to resort to choke chains, prong collars or other training tools to train a dog to do amazing things, and no, you won't find John wearing a treat pouch, or using a clicker!

Curious? Do you have a dog that is really bad at coming back to you when called? Then this is the seminar for you and your dog.

Past courses of this type have included:
  • Training a reliable, automatic, non-negotiable, reality recall
  • Building block and foundation training of the recall
  • Relationship/influence building in recall training
  • The chasing/emergency recall
  • Sit and/or down on recall
  • Freeze/stop on recall/running wait
  • Distance/direction control
  • Calling dogs off of distractions
  • Out of sight recall (owner hidden)
  • Obedience/competition recall (dog is called from a stationary position)
  • Free running recall (dog is called while in motion)
  • Type "A" recall (dog re-joins his owner in motion)

Seminar runs 9:30A - 4:00P daily.

  • Dogs will need a sturdy collar and 25 foot long line.
  • A bag containing five different types of food rewards, five different toys that a dog enjoys playing with and lots of personal enthusiasm.
  • Some formal obedience training in the dog will prove helpful. No dog is permitted off-lead at the seminar unless instructed to do so by John.
It is important that dogs are fine around people that they do not know (No aggression problems please!)
